Term 2

Kia ora koutou,

Welcome back to Term 2, I hope you all had a relaxing and enjoyable holidays and are ready for a fun term ahead! I am thoroughly looking forward to working and learning with the wonderful students of Cir7us (room 7) for the next 5 weeks!

Week 1, we are kicking off with learning about the Anzacs and what it may have been like for them in 1915, and what Anzac day means for us now. We have some war memorabilia to look at – so keep your eyes peeled on here for some photos! If you have any Anzac items; photos, letters, medals etc that your child wants to bring in during week 1, that would be awesome!

Science/Inquiry -
Our focus for our science learning this term is Beach Life vs River Life.  Our big science ideas is:
Living things depend on one another and on the non-living environment in which they live. Changes in any elements of the living or non-living environment may affect the relationships between living things and lesson or improve the changes of some species surviving.

6SmallBubbles and Cir7s (Rooms 6 and 7) are planning to visit The Manawatá¿¡ River and Foxton Estuary on Wednesday 19th April – 9am – 2.45pm. There will be a letter going home with more information about this on Monday.

Cross-country -
We will be starting to train for the cross-country (date to be confirmed). Monday week 1 we will be walking the track with training to start on Tuesday. Please ensure that your child brings suitable shoes to run in each day.

I am looking forward to getting to know you all over the next few weeks! If you have any questions, feel free to pop in and see me or send me an email.
